Democratism ran right up to her best form in winning race 4 at Belmont on 21st July. Steve Parnham rode a great race and, at last, that gets the monkey off his back by scoring his first win on her. She has always been Steve's ride but he has either been suspended or riding horses in Melbourne for his father during her other wins.
This win was particularly pleasing for me as it was planned three months ago to bring her back into work with last week's 1000m and yesterday's 1200m as a chance to score a couple of bonus wins before turning four. Although we only got one of them she was a little unlucky the previous week, only beaten a short head and a neck.
Democratism is now Bletchley Park's highest stake earner for the 2011/12 season.
