On Thursday 21st November Chinetti won his first race start in an 1100m all age maiden at Northam. It was an outstanding performance by him leading and being challenged hard through the first 700m and then winning in the very fast time of 1.02.99. This time, in my quick search through the records, shows Barakey as being the only horse to run a quicker time in 1.02.81 over the 1100m.
Earlier this year Beach Express won the $100,000 Northam Sprint in the time of 1.03.10 when he beat Right Time. This time comparison for a horse having his first start in a race is quite remarkable. Let's hope he can reach the dizzy heights of the two afore-mentioned horses.
